Buttermilk and Honey: Reviews & Ratings
Definitely the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had!! Juiciest chicken ever and the OG is the perfect mix of sweet and savory. I go here every time I’m in Richmond and it never disappoints! Very quiet atmosphere and I love to get a window seat and just chill out. Highly recommend!
First, great fried chicken and it’s gluten free. It’s self serve and not bad. The gluten free hamburger buns really need a lot of work. I’ve eaten here several times and the buns just fall apart when you pickup the sandwich. The bad part about it is that they charge more for them. See picture.
Buttermilk and honey is the perfect place to go before a show at the national! The food is delicious and comes out quickly! I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and juicy! I’m so glad that they opened up a location after being at hatch local.
• Good food, good prices • Cashless, order kiosks • Hot & fresh, cooked to order • Will recommend to others • Will be back again Stopped in around lunch time, slight after 12pm. Place was packed, but no wait to order at the kiosk. Shoutout to whomever had the Aux Cord, the playlist was on point. The kitchen staff had energy! Ordered the "Dirty Bird" chicken sando (no pickles, added bacon for extra $2) and Smashville hot fries (no pickles). Went in on the fries first, definitely get a lot for $7. They were hot & crispy, spiced perfectly and the spicy ranch put it over the top. They were hit! Order em with extra spicy ranch, trust me, the ranch is like that, not crazy OD hot at all!! I think I drooled a lil bit, idk lol the sandwich, that dirty bird, it did not do me dirty. First of all, the sandwich was huge (look at the pic, I have large hands lol). Secondly, you can't hide how fresh it was... from the chicken, to the hot sauce and blue cheese, to the lettuce and tomato. The bacon was too crispy for my liking, but it didn't kill the vibe. I'm definitely pulling up again to eat more of their lineup.
The food is 10/10, but the atmosphere really lacks. It almost seems like a restaurant made mostly for online orders. There is so much more they can do with the decor to make it feel welcoming. The gluten free breading is one of the best I’ve had; you would never know it was gluten free. The gf bun they offer is also very good. I highly recommend the smashville hot fries. Coleslaw was just okay, it is ranch based, so it takes on a different flavor than normal mayo based coleslaw.
Ate here with my friends for our one night in Richmond while we were checking out Ft. Lee and the area. It looks like a basic restaurant however their options are good. It’s fried chicken sandwiches and they do that very well. I got the Smokey Chick and a side of Mac and Cheese. The sandwich was phenomenal: tender, juicy, and very large even for me. The Mac and cheese was good, but not anything to die for in my opinion. I would come back and try out a different sandwich. This place is like a “fast casual” styled restaurant where you order on a kiosk and have the option to dine in or take out. If you’re walking around and in the mood for fried chicken that isn’t at a chain, this is definitely the place to go!
These were some seriously good chicken sandwiches! You order on a screen and have to pay by card. Now I know a lot of places are doing this, but I'm still a primarily a cash person. It's not a big deal, but I do prefer having a cash option. Anyway, on to the food! As I started with, these are some really delicious chicken sandwiches! I believe that everything was made from scratch. The people working there seemed friendly and helpful. In fact, one guy was singing! He was pretty good, too! The chicken was juicy, the outside crunchy. The sandwiches were a bit messy to eat, but that's how you know that they're good, right? It was a good spot for dinner, and I'm glad that we ate there.
Actually the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Service was awesome the ladies at the counter were so nice. We got the Spicy Asian Persuasion and the OG with Smashville fries— all absolutely delicious!! Would absolutely stop here again!
